Lavender

We are working on our lavender fields to open to the public in the next few years. We plan to put in 1,000 new plants this year with the hope of opening our fields in 2024/2025!

Tucked my little snapdragon babies into the soil this weekend so they could grow into big strong plants before the heat of the spring sets in. They love this cool weather! I’ve been working away all winter, testing and making batches of soap with our lavender so that we’d have a decent stock of it for the summer. It was important to me to keep it free of artificial dyes or fragrances as well as palm-oil free, so it is scented with lavender essential oil and coloured with alkanet root powder. Each batch comes out a slightly different colour, which I love! This weekend felt like maybe this was right around the corner! In reality, we have a few months left to go until we are swimming in lavender again. We are so excited to open our field to the public this year! Looking for a unique Mother’s Day gift? We have dried floral embroidery hoops in stock and waiting for their forever home! These were handmade by yours truly with dried florals from our farm.
